THE RESOURCE FOR EVERYTHING ABOUT THE GOLF SWING

The Minimalist Golf Swing - how it works
[ understand the how-to first - click here]
It delivers the club to the ball with more
PRECISION,
GREATER CLUBHEAD SPEED,
an INSIDE PATH and
a SHALLOW ANGLE OF APPROACH
ALL FOUR OF THE ABOVE HELP TO ADD POWER TO THE SWING
MGS POSITIONS FOR PRECISION
(no compensations to return club to ball from top of backswing to impact)
•The left arm and clubshaft form an unimpeded radius of the swing from address to impact
•Backswing width keeps the arms almost as straight as at impact
•Backswing width allows right elbow to drop into the ‘slot’ in front of body
•Less wrist bend (in any plane) at the top prevents right shoulder internal rotation and right wrist extension, both of which require complex movements to undo
•Correct right trunk flexion allows arms to drop into the ‘slot’, while the right side of the body is prevented from moving out of sequence
•The left side of the body can ‘expand’ (not ‘contract’) past impact - better swing path, less left side injury
MGS POSITIONS FOR either more MASS OR more ACCELERATION into shot
BECAUSE F = ma
•Body mass always AT the ball
•Gravity harnessed as arms are raised to a position of maximum gravitational potential energy
•Ground reaction forces are harnessed by right foot
•Stable body weight and right side at impact allows right arm pronation through impact
•Backswing width allows right elbow to drop down, creating wrist lag for more timed power from forearm pronation
•Backswing width prevents reverse weight shift
